Robusta

A bold and resilient variety, Robusta is known for its intense flavor, full body, and rich crema. With higher caffeine content and deep chocolate-nut undertones, it is the backbone of many espresso blends and a favorite for those who enjoy a strong, energizing cup.

  • Typical Flavor Profile: Strong, bold, earthy, and more bitter.
  • Notes: Woody, nutty, sometimes smoky or chocolatey.
  • Body: Full-bodied, heavier crema if used for espresso blends. Higher caffeine content gives it a sharper bite.

    • May Include: Blacks/ dark brown beans, damaged beans such as bleached (spongy) beans, insect-damaged beans, spotted (more than a quarter of a bean surface) beans, stinker and sour beans.
